The silk road, an ancient trade route, connection between East and West, where commodity not only, but also religious and artistic styles were exchanged.

In 1890, Sven Hedin described the silk road as the most important link, which had ever existed between peoples and continents.
 
Our tour headed from Germany, across the Balkan States, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, China to Tibet and back through China, the Gobi desert, Mongolia to Lake Baikal in Siberia. It went on through Russia passing Moscow and St. Petersburg, the Baltic States, back home.
